000 Euro-Rosewood | 2019

This 000 guitar was custom ordered in Germany. It featured Waverly tuners with ebony buttons, EVO gold frets, as well as brass and mother of pearl inlays in the fingerboard and bridge pins. The wooden rosette was cut from the same rosewood as the back and sides, as were the bindings. For both aesthetic reasons and to save wood, I try to cut the bindings from the side wood itself before bending.

* As I describe elsewhere on my site, I would no longer use Madagascar rosewood or almost any tropical wood in my current or future builds. What I didn’t understand at that time was how much environmental destruction, government corruption, and international crime is tied up in almost all such woods, even when importers and buyers do their best to insist on transparent supply chains.
