00 Euro-Mahogany Double Top | 2026
This guitar was built first of all as an experimental double top. The area of the lower soundboard has a solid balsa core with spruce on the outside and very light European cherry (yes, cherry) on the inside. The result is a top that is both lighter and stiffer, which makes it possible to use lighter bracing and overall getting better transfer of energy from the strings into movement and sound.
It also features fully sustainable woods, stainless steel bar frets, a vertically pinned mortise and tenon neck-to-body joint, a large radius domed top for stronger bass response, compensated nut and saddle, and a through-saddle bridge.
Overall, I’d say the experiment was successful. I definitely plan to build more.
